MYANMAR STUDIES CENTER

The Myanmar Studies Center (MSC@UP), established at Palacký University Olomouc in May 2024, aims to raise awareness of human rights and democracy issues in the Indo-Pacific region. Its primary goal is to connect academia with politicians and civil society in Czechia and other Central Eastern European (CEE) nations. It is one of the few academic centers worldwide dedicated to Myanmar-related research.

MSC@UP represents a knowledge hub for conducting high-level research on various aspects of Myanmar, attracting researchers who are interested in studying the country's political, social, and economic landscape.

The Myanmar Studies Center is envisioned as a long-term initiative that will continue operating even after the EUVIP project ends. By establishing a permanent presence, the center aims to contribute to ongoing research, public engagement, and awareness-building efforts related to Myanmar, thereby fostering a sustained focus on human rights and democracy in the Indo-Pacific region.
