About the event

The EUVIP team is organizing a workshop for PhD students, offering a rich program that combines lectures on academic writing, publishing, data management, and more. Participants will also have the chance for one-on-one consultations with EUVIP researchers to support their individual research goals.


PROGRAM:


Monday, 11 November 


11:30–13:00: Introduction to the workshop (Alfred Gerstl & Kristina Kironska, UP) and lunch

13:00–14:15: The importance of planning and organization (Prof. Tanguy Struye de Swielande, UCLouvain)

14:15–14:30: Break

14:30–16:00: Publishing for Early Career Researchers (Prof. Julie Yu-Wen Chen, University of Helsinki)

16:00–16:15: Break

16:15–17:15: Op-ed writing (David Hutt, CEIAS)

17:15–17:30: Discussions and conclusion of day 1

 

 

 

Tuesday, 12 November 


10:00–11:15: Writing a PhD thesis – a student’s perspective (Fanny Hocker, UCLouvain) and EUVIP Young Researchers’ Group meeting

11:15–11:30: Break

11:30–13:00 Foundations of data stewardship for qualitative research: A dialogue on managing interview data, including using analytical software such as MAXQDA (Tereza Motalova & David Broul, UP)

13:00–14:00 Lunch

14:00–17:00 (with breaks): Presentations of PhD students (max. 20 minutes)

17:00–17:15: Discussions and conclusion of day 2

 

 

Wednesday, 13 November


10:00–16:15: Individual consultations with Prof. Julie Chen and Prof. Tanguy Struye de Swielande (the exact time slots will be assigned on 11 November)

 

16:30–18:00 Opening of the Indo-Pacific Hub: Panel Discussion & Party

 

 

 

Thursday, 14 November


10:00–15:00: Individual consultations (if required)
